James and I were sitting there commenting on the rugby, ready for the next fuel drain that day to come in. Before long we had a phone call from a lovely women on a company trip who had pulled into the Sainsburys filling station in Streatham Park and filled petrol in a diesel Hyundai lease car in error. She was somewhat troubled it seemed, stating "I simply can't believe that I've messed up the car! I am just so familiar with filling my petrol car that I had did not remember I was operating a diesel!" We asked her to settle back and not to be concerned, plus that such things can happen. She managed to move the vehicle into a safe spot and, as it was only a short distance off from the office, we were able to get to the woman rather quickly. The wrong fuel was removed so she could get back to the Travelodge she was residing at. Despite the fact we got really drenched, it was all rewarding to watch her drive away relaxed and not so concerned. A fuel drain in Lambeth done well in my mind!

AdBlue In Your Diesel

All over Lambeth we are noticing increasingly more occurrences of AdBlue contamination whereby someone has put AdBlue inside their diesel fuel tank. This is to a degree thanks to drivers being unsure of the way to to make use of (pay attention: it is not a fuel additive), and partly simply because the filler necks for diesel and AdBlue are usually directly next to each other on the car.

Now, what exactly is the problem with having AdBlue in your diesel vehicle? Because the product is predominantly ionised water, it's just like pouring water into your tank. Diesel and water do not mix at all and attempting to run a diesel car on water is not going to work. Moreover, the urea is very corrosive to the fuel system hoses and seals and is more prone to crystallisation, blocking injectors and fuel filters.

In case you find yourself in this predicament don?t fret or panic! Call us, the UK?s Number 1 fuel contamination business. Our engineers possess the practical expertise and experience to have you back on your way rapidly and efficiently, no mess, no hassle.

Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, no matter whether it is petrol or diesel, is actually a significant condition to deal with in a vehicle - specifically in modern common-rail engines. Having water inside your diesel or petrol will likely bring about idling issues, uneven running, excessive smoke and, if it is not sorted out properly, potentially blown injectors. Water in petrol is easier to remove compared to water in diesel - this is mainly due to the fact that diesel is an oil. In spite of this we can resolve both situations rather simply.

Be aware though that if ever the vehicle has been started with the water contaminated fuel it will very likely need a new fuel filter to be fitted as the previous one will likely be completely wet and useless.

Boat Fuel Drains

In the event that you have the wrong fuel, or perhaps dirty fuel (most usually water contamination or old fuel) in a boat we can help get it out. Providing the boat is either on land, or moored near enough to an automobile parking bay we can reach the storage and remove the contaminated fuel. We've done quite a few fuel drains at marinas and boatyards in the uk.}
